Israel, like the rest of the world, faces significant environmental and  climatic threats. In the past few years, the awareness of Israel's 'green' future has increased, and a number of national, civil, and private initiatives have been introduced in an attempt to bring about real change. Are the pressing issues of today making us postpone the care of our future? What should be done to make Israel more sensitive to environmental issues? To what extent are the recent discoveries of gas in Israel affecting its environmental future? What new technologies are required in fields such as energy, public transportation, and urban planning for Israel to become a greener and more sustainable home for its eight million residents?
