The World Economy: Will it get Worse Before it Gets Better?

At the beginning of 2012, World Bank experts warned that the "world economy was entering a dangerous era". In their words, the direramifications of the economic crisis befalling Europeare beginning tospread beyond the continent, and rates of growth and world trade are in decline. In light of these predictions, is the global economy heading towards another downturn or are we in the midst of a painful process of rehabilitation? Were the lessons of the 2008 crisis successfully internalized? How will current trends impact the future global economy? What should be done today so that tomorrow’s economy will refute the pessimists’ gloomy forecasts?
